The mining and metallurgy industry in Kazakhstan comes under the spotlight from 4th to 6th July 2012 in Astana’s Palace of Independence when leading figures in the sector meet at the Astana Mining & Metallurgy Congress (AMM) and the Congress of Mining and Metallurgy Industry Workers. The combined event, known as the Kazakhstan Mining & Metallurgy Days is likely to attract over 1000 industry professionals.

The 19th Moscow International Travel and Tourism Exhibition (MITT) took place at the end of March and was hailed as a great success by exhibitors and visitors from around the world.

The exhibition had a 4% increase in visitor attendance compared to 2011 with 82,933 attendees, and over 3,000 exhibiting companies from 197 countries and regions. MITT welcomed the Dominican Republic as the events official partner country for the first time, as part of their participation the Dominican Republic held lively Caribbean dancing, cigar rolling, and rum cocktails as part of Dominican Day during the show. ITE Group plc today announces an acquisition of a Kiev based Limited Liability Company BeautexCo (Beautex).

Beautex runs two exhibitions each year, Intercharm and Beautyexpo. Both are trade exhibitions for the professional beauty trade and cosmetic and aesthetic medicine industry in Ukraine. The exhibitions are forecast to generate revenues of €2.4m in the year ending 30 September 2012 and are expected to be earnings enhancing in ITE’s 2012 financial year.

Commenting on the acquisition, ITE’s Chief Executive Officer, Russell Taylor, said:

At the recent Event Forum Europe+Asia in St. Petersburg, the management of Expocentr Krasnaya Presnya in Moscow announced that an additional venue will be built outside of the city adjacent to the Vnukovo airport. A land plot of 104 hectares has been transferred from the authorities of the Moscow region to be part of the new Moscow city development. The blessing of the Russian federal government was given, yet the detailed approval procedures are currently running.

The new venue will be built in two phases, the first phase comprising around 120.000 sqm of covered hall space to be operational by late 2014 or at the beginning of 2015. The investment into the new project is estimated by industry sources to sum up to not less than €1 bn.
